My Clay pot!

For this clay pot I first the clay through a slab roller, flattening the clay out. After that I molded it over an upsidown bowl, smothing it out as I did this. Then I carved in a design and traced it in red clay. Then once I was done with the design it was put in the kiln to dry. In this picture it shows me glazing the pot, after this it will be put in the pot and become glossy. I am giving this pot to my dad for Christmas:) (if you were wondering [which you weren't])

Still life

This still life was a little dificult for me. Its hard to draw glass because you really have to look at the highlights and the colors shining through it. Also for the flowers and the vase, I originally had it looking more light, but it was hard to tell the depth of it. After darkening the shadows it looked more realistic. I decided not to color in the background but after this picture was taken I made a corner more light, adding a highlight and shadows. I also added a table under the still life display. I am giving this picture to my mom for Christmas:) (incase you were wondering)

Panda Stencil! 2011

First I traced out the black making sure the white spaces had no islands. After this I cut out all of the black spaces. I also made a '22 by '26 frame.

Once I was done with cutting out all of the black spaces I spray painted on top of the stencil to create the picture.

Brick Panda mosaic

We looked at each individual pixel and said what the color was. Then a person marked off the color and we went back and colored it in fully.

This shows us marking off the brick colors while other people are filling it in completely.

Oil pastel drawing of my Grandfather

First I grided the paper with one inch on the original and with two inches on the big paper. I then sketched the picture and started drawing it in with oil pastels.

I am so excited to announce that I am finished with my oil pastel drawing!! Took much time but I am now done and I think it turned out really good! The reference for this piece was a painting of my grandfather when he was in the Marines.

Flower mud painting

First I grided the paper with one inch on the original and with two inches on the big paper. I then sketched the picture and started drawing it in with oil pastels.
.After we chalked it we started painting it in with mud.

Almost finished product of the mud painting because Mr. Sands took the picture before it was done...

Value Scale Shading

I traced over the original photo with tracing paper- trying to find as many shapes as possible. Then I scetched the tracing on a scetch book peice of paper and filled in all of the shading.

Shadow art

We cut out paper and then projected a light through, this produced a shadow of a city being destroyed by a monster.

The closer to the light source the paper is, the bigger the image looks. This is one of the things we learned and used to our advantage in this project.
